ESG (Environmental, Social and Governance) frameworks are the latest enterprise risk affecting health care organizations. Stakeholders are beginning to request information about ESG efforts including the Joint Commission, management liability and property insurers, financial donors, and financial rating agencies.

During this session, we describe ESG concepts, and provide examples of various ways health care organizations are adopting an ESG framework. Governance and C-Suite support of ESG are key in risk mitigation, even if they are minor changes, and insurers are beginning to positively recognize organizations that proactively manage this risk. Captive insurance companies are also considering how coverage and their investments can incorporate ESG principles.
