Description

The HRM Certificate Program is a 2-part foundational course covering the knowledge and applied skills necessary to succeed as a health care risk professional.

HRM Essentials - Focus on what new risk professionals need to know. The goal of the module is to support those new to health care risk management on foundational knowledge and practical skills necessary to support a successful health care risk management program. 

This course is offered in-person for over 2.5 days.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Understand the risk management process and the role of a risk professional in a health care setting
  2. Have a working knowledge of health care regulations and different resources to review for case specifics
  3. Identify, document, and communicate risk in your organization
  4. Understand the importance of communication from the top and bottom of your organization
  5. Gather data using various tools and perform basic data analysis (incident reports)
  6. Understand basic risk mitigation strategies
  7. Understand the entire investigation process and best practices
  8. Understand the fundamentals of human capital risks for health care organizations
  9. Understand the fundamentals of risk financing concepts and why they are important to risk professionals
  10. Understand basic patient safety and just culture

Who should attend this program?

This course is ideal for those with 0-1 years of experience in health care risk management, but all risk professionals would benefit from this professional development.
