Physician health is more than a wellness issue—it’s a critical component of patient safety and risk mitigation. Physician Health: A Key Risk Mitigation Strategy examines the latest data on physician burnout and well-being, alongside five years of malpractice claims, to reveal how impaired health can lead to communication breakdowns, medical errors, and compromised safety culture. This webinar introduces the role of state Physician Health Programs (PHPs) and explores how they can be integrated into organizational safety strategies. Attendees will leave equipped to initiate meaningful conversations within their institutions and develop proactive approaches to support physician health as a cornerstone of safer, more resilient care environments.
Learning Objectives:
- Examine current statistics on physician health and burnout rates
- Review 5 years of open and closed malpractice claims to examine connections between physician health, patient safety, and malpractice claims
- Understand the principles of a safety culture and the role PHP’s play within that culture
