Adverse events in ambulatory care settings are often underreported and poorly understood, yet they can have significant implications for patient safety and professional liability. This webinar will explore the types and causes of adverse events in outpatient environments, examine how these incidents can lead to litigation, and assess current processes for reporting and investigation. Participants will learn to identify adverse events within their clinical practice, understand their prevalence, and implement effective risk reduction strategies to prevent recurrence. Designed for health care risk professionals, this session addresses a critical knowledge gap and equips attendees with practical tools to enhance safety and reduce liability in ambulatory care.
Learning Objectives:
- Analyze how adverse events within the ambulatory setting can lead to professional liability claims.
- Assess current process for adverse event reporting and investigation of the events to avoid recurrence.
- Implement risk reduction strategies to mitigate events associated with adverse outcomes that occur in ambulatory settings.
