Description

The last two years of the COVID-19 pandemic have exposed many vulnerabilities related to infection prevention and control across the entire healthcare delivery system. While the focus recently has been on COVID-19, there is a prime opportunity to more fundamentally focus on broader infection prevention and control efforts that are designed to reduce patient risk and harm, reduce mortality and morbidity, and improve occupational safety for healthcare providers. This webinar will review the CDC’s Core Practices for Infection Prevention and Control that can be implemented to reduce harm to patients in all healthcare settings, reduce preventable costs, and improve the overall patient experience.

Objectives:

  • Identify infection prevention and control core practices that represent the foundation for safe patient care across the healthcare continuum
  • Explore the link between infection control core practices, care competence, and potential institutional risk management
  • Review the top 10 infection prevention strategies to reduce patient harm across healthcare settings
