This session reinforces the evolving role of risk professionals as connectors across the continuum – advancing safety, collaboration, and organizational resilience. Attendees will be able to recognize shared risk exposures between SUD and acute care settings, apply practical strategies to improve safety and care transitions, and strengthen their role as risk leaders across the continuum of care.

Speaker:

Sarah Bush, MBA, CPHRM, FASHRM is the Senior Director of Corporate Risk Management at Bradford Health Services based out of Birmingham, Alabama. She has over 10 years of experience across acute care, substance use disorder treatment, and multi-state healthcare systems. She leads enterprise risk management and patient safety programs supporting inpatient and outpatient services across six states. In her role, Sarah leads system-wide risk strategy, patient safety initiatives, incident management, and performance improvement efforts, while directly managing and mentoring a team of RM/PI Directors. She has successfully implemented standardized risk assessment processes, incident dashboards, leadership rounding programs, and culture of safety initiatives aligned with organizational and board-level priorities.
