This webinar explores the critical role of Patient Safety Organizations (PSOs) in advancing a culture of safety within health care. Participants will gain a clear understanding of PSOs, their purpose, and the value they bring to health care organizations. The session will highlight the benefits of partnering with PSOs, provide guidance on effective engagement strategies, and share practical approaches for leveraging PSO resources to enhance patient safety initiatives and outcomes.

Speaker:

Adam Novak, serves as director, safety & quality at the MHA Keystone Center.  He manages the MHA Keystone Center Patient Safety Organization and oversees the development and deployment of patient safety culture-improvement efforts across all departmental projects under the umbrella of high reliability.  Adam led the design and launch of the MHA Keystone Center Speak-Up! Award, tool to promote safety culture and reduce costs and harm in healthcare.  He also spearheads the MHA workforce safety collaborative and oversees maternal health and opioid safety efforts.  Adam currently serves as an editorial review board member for the peer reviewed journal Patient Safety.

Clarence Rucker, serves as the Senior Manager of Safety and Quality at the MHA Keystone Center. As an emerging leader in the organization, he collaborates with clinical and administrative professionals to develop patient safety solutions aimed at enhancing safety and the quality of hospital care. Clarence oversees the development and execution of interactive patient safety initiatives, where he actively motivates, engages, and supports members to create sustainable solutions. Through these PSO offerings, Clarence fosters a collaborative and engaging environment that empowers healthcare professionals with the tools and knowledge they need to improve.
