In today’s health care environment, understanding the legal and practical considerations surrounding service animals is essential for risk professionals and frontline staff. “Service Animals in Healthcare Updates” provides a comprehensive overview of federal laws, regulations, and accreditation requirements governing service animals in healthcare facilities. Participants will learn how to appropriately identify service animals versus emotional support animals, navigate interactions between staff, patients, and service animals, and understand the boundaries of acceptable access within clinical settings. Through real-world scenarios and demonstrations, this session equips attendees with the knowledge and confidence to ensure compliance while supporting patient needs.

John Bardsley, MMSc, CPHRM, CPHQ, Over 40 years experience in health care from patient care to administrative leadership to quality and risk leadership.
