In today’s rapidly evolving risk landscape, health care facilities face unprecedented challenges that demand proactive, informed, and resilient emergency preparedness strategies. Preparedness 2025: Protecting Patients in Uncertain Times is a dynamic webinar designed for health care risk professionals seeking to strengthen their organization’s readiness and response capabilities. Participants will explore three critical emergency threats impacting health care in 2025, assess the implications for patient and staff safety, and gain a clear understanding of essential regulatory requirements from CMS, OSHA, and The Joint Commission. Through an all-hazards approach, attendees will learn practical strategies to enhance staff training, ensure continuity of care, and champion a culture of safety during crises. By the end of the session, participants will be equipped to evaluate their Emergency Operations Plans, communicate preparedness priorities to leadership, and serve as confident advocates for safety and resilience in their organizations.

Learning Objectives:

  1. Identify at least three current emergency threats that directly impact healthcare facilities in 2025 and explain their implications for patient and staff safety.
  2. Describe the essential regulatory requirements for healthcare emergency preparedness (CMS, OSHA, and Joint Commission) and evaluate how they apply to their own organization’s Emergency Operations Plan.
  3. Demonstrate how to apply an all-hazards approach by outlining at least two practical strategies for improving staff readiness and ensuring continuity of care during emergencies.
