Patient Safety Certificate Program

The Patient Safety Certificate Program is designed to assist health care risk management and patient safety professionals apply key patient safety concepts to support improved patient care and outcomes. Participants will review patient safety concepts and learn to effectively apply them to effect positive change in their organization. The certificate program is designed in a “blended learning” approach, with attendees beginning their journey with the program with an online component prior to the in-person learning.

Anyone who wants to understand the foundational concepts of patient safety and learn to effectively apply them to effect positive change.

Curriculum
ASHRM is committed to the development of individual professionals, as well as to the entire healthcare risk management and patient safety profession. As the profession becomes more robust and the knowledge base of the individual is enhanced, risk management and patient safety professionals will be recognized as integral and vital to the success of their organizations.

This curriculum is designed to help healthcare risk management and patient safety professionals understand and apply their key contributions to improved patient care and outcomes.

Continuing Education Credit Information

ASHRM Credit
This program is approved for 18 contact hours of continuing education credit toward fulfillment of the requirements of ASHRM designations of FASHRM (Fellow) and DFASHRM (Distinguished Fellow), and toward CPHRM renewal – for those who hold the designation at the time of the program.

Continuing Nursing Education (CNE)
American Society for Healthcare Risk Management is accredited as a provider of continuing nursing education by the American Nurses Credentialing Center's Commission on Accreditation.

This program has been approved for 18 credit hours of CNE.

Verification of Completion

Upon completion of both the online and onsite component of the Patient Safety Certificate Program, ASHRM is pleased to award a certificate of completion for the entire program. ASHRM will process and send back the certificate of completion to the successful participant who completes both components of the Certificate Program.
