Creating a Clinical Management Program Through the Lens of Sepsis
CE Credit: 1
Domain: Clinical Patient Safety
Level: Foundational
In this foundational course, you will explore specific tools to create a sepsis and or clinical management program that can improve patient outcomes.
Sepsis wreaks havoc on the lives of patients, families, and healthcare systems. It remains perplexing in its complexity, thereby soaring above other disease processes’ morbidity and mortality rates. Such complexity has created barriers towards favorable outcomes. Much like healthcare risk management, sepsis is everyone’s responsibility within a healthcare organization. Furthermore, creating a sepsis management plan is not unlike that of other risk management plans, in that much of the processes used are similar. In turn, by taking a deeper look at how a sepsis management plan is organized, planned, and executed, you as a risk manager will be more apt to creating clinical management plans in the future.
Objectives:
- • Determine your facility's risks based on patients with a particular clinical diagnosis.
- • Compare the risk management process to clinical risk management plans.
- • Apply the steps of the sepsis management process.
- • Develop a sepsis or other clinical management plan.
