    HRM Week Elevator Speech

Healthcare Risk Management (HRM) Week is June 20-24, 2011. HRM Week is the American Society For Healthcare Risk Management's (ASHRM) annual campaign to raise awareness of the organizational value of today's healthcare risk managers. As a member of ASHRM and as a healthcare risk manager, I can talk to you about the organizational value that healthcare risk managers bring to the workplace of today and tomorrow.

Today's healthcare risk managers operate in a wide variety of healthcare arenas. But, our professionals have many common attributes including:

    • We are strategic, practical, see the big picture and are the go-to professionals in a crisis
    • We have a commitment to patient safety
    • We bring expertise to risk prevention and event management
    • We offer a holistic ability to protect the patient, the balance sheet and our organization's reputation, through proactive thinking and response management

At my organization (fill in name of employer), I play a proactive role by working to identify and prevent risks as well as (insert key items such as insurance, financial, etc.). I am a go-to professional during event and incident management.

I work to promote effective communication at all levels of my organization and with providers, patients, families and communities.
