The HRM Certificate Program: Barton Modules, a cornerstone of ASHRM’s risk management professional development opportunities, covers key aspects of risk management while providing continuing education credits
This year, the program has been significantly revised to provide interactive, learner-centered content, allowing participants to work through healthcare risk management scenarios, make critical decisions, and receive expert mentoring and coaching from a panel of distinguished faculty members and healthcare risk management experts. All three sequential modules (Module 1: Essentials in Healthcare Risk Management , Module 2: Applications in Healthcare Risk Management and Module 3: Advanced Forum in Healthcare Risk Management ) in the program are offered at ASHRM 2012 during a three-day pre-conference. Participants may enroll in only ONE of the modules during the pre-conference line-up:

ASHRM’s Patient Safety Curriculum Certificate Program is designed to help healthcare risk management and patient safety professionals understand and apply their key contributions to support improved patient care and outcomes. This dynamic program consists of two sessions; participants may register for one or both. Participants who complete both sessions will earn a Patient Safety Curriculum Certificate.

The Society for Healthcare Consumer Advocacy (SHCA), a personal membership group of the American Hospital Association, is pleased to offer the SHCA Domains of Practice certificate program to risk managers and their patient advocates. The 8-hour course covers nine content domains that comprise the body of practice for today’s patient advocate.
The SHCA Domains of Practice curriculum is a cornerstone of SHCA’s professional development portfolio. It covers key aspects of patient advocacy while providing networking opportunities and continuing education credits. This program provides both seasoned and new healthcare professionals a brief overview of all elements impacting the advancement of patient advocates. Faculty will use case studies and interaction among participants to model collaboration between the patient advocate and risk manager.
