Paul Begala is a political analyst for CNN, where he is part of the team that won an Emmy for its coverage of the 2006 elections and a Peabody Award for its coverage of the 2008 Presidential election. In 1992, Begala was a senior strategist for the Clinton-Gore Presidential Campaign. He was a close adviser to President William Clinton and helped define and defend the president’s agenda.
Begala also is an affiliated professor of Public Policy at Georgetown University. In 2007, he was named the Carl Sanders Distinguished Scholar in Political Leadership at the University of Georgia School of Law. An author of several best-selling books, including “Is Our Children Learning? The Case Against George W. Bush,” Begala also is a columnist for Newsweek and The Daily Beast. He received a bachelor’s degree in government and a law degree from the University of Texas at Austin.
